What better day than St. Paddy's to celebrate the path and promise of the tempest tossed, seeking and finding refuge upon the shoals of a new land. That through the trials of acclimation, against the rip-tides of hate and prejudice, made this land indelibly their own. Today is a day to celebrate not just Irish culture, but immigrant courage generally, and invariably, our shared American - and human - experience of finding our feet in uncertain sands.
